Musical interlude: Neil Young, Angry World

I have long admired Neil Young, even forgiving him when he occasionally drops an excrutiating M.O.R. album. This new cut suggests that he's back to his old ornery self. From the title, Angry World, to the grinding sonic atmosphere pervading the production and on to the lyrics, he once again sounds both pointed and timely.

If one considers how the badly informed voters of today are scrambling to unseat the political "establishment," the song comes across as powerfully apropos.
