Ugly Logo / Ugly Scene
It really was an unfortunate outcome. On a day that was supposed to be so positive, this was a real downer. I am not in the core fan group as I'm a little too old and low key for them to think I'm cool, but as I understand it, these most invested fans were denied any involvement or input to the logo process.
Everybody knows how vocal these guys are (and this can be productive at times) so it seems to me to be a colossal mistake to have gone about it this way.
The logo is not great, but the real problem is that it is seen by die hards and casuals like myself as a step down from what is already there.
Shame it had to result in profanity in front of kids , but the people who created this scenario and could have avoided it share the blame.- Soccer Fan June 14, 2010 12:47PM Reply to this Recommend (0)
There's clearly a lot of passion around the unveiling of this new logo and it was probably a predictable outcome as the most vocal in the crowd [no doubt members of the famed Timbers Army,] seemed to outweigh any supporters of the logo in this video. If the Army don't like it we are going to hear about it. Be nice to hear from people who like the new logo though.
Can someone set the record straight and tell us if the Timbers Army, those hard core, passionate Timbers supporters, were actually invited to the table or not during the new logo process?
