Instagram gets a video cousin: Viddy
The phenomenal success of Instagram, the photo-sharing app for the iPhone, appears as though it will be matched by Viddy, a video-sharing app that allows users to upload and share 15 seconds of video, shot on their mobile devices, on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and YouTube. Viddy launched in April and is on its way to 1 million users already.
As of March, Instagram was adding 130,000 registered users per week, with 2.2 million users uploading 3.6 million new photos per week (or 6 photos per second)
As for Viddy, it doesn't hurt that it got a great write up in today's New York Times' On The Runway fashion blog.
